In response to the feedback received and in recognition of the specific nature of shaped block products (dowels), we understand that some hospitals may need to order multiple sizes of the same product, even though they may not use all of them.
We are also aware that such returns were possible prior to the implementation of Héma-Québec’s exclusive distributor mandate, and that this restriction presents a challenge — especially in a context of increasing budget constraints.
To simplify the process, Héma-Québec has decided to relax its return policy for these products. We will now coordinate dowel returns with our suppliers, provided all conditions are met.
Please note that this exception applies only to dowels, as it is often difficult to determine the required size before surgery. Héma-Québec will assess each situation and determine whether the return complies with the policy.
